Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Crews Hill
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Crews Hill to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our activities ethically and to upholding the fundamental human rights of all individuals who work for or with us.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Crews Hill provides transport, removals, and related logistics services. Our operations involve direct employees, casual workers, subcontracted drivers, and a range of suppliers, including vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, and facilities and office service providers.
We recognise that elements of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation. We therefore place strong emphasis on clear standards, robust supplier selection, and ongoing monitoring of working practices.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We adopt a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking. This commitment applies to all aspects of our business, including recruitment, employment, subcontracting, and sourcing of goods and services.
We do not knowingly work with any individual or organisation that is involved in, supports, or condones modern slavery. Any evidence or reasonable suspicion that such practices are taking place will result in immediate investigation and, where appropriate, termination of the relevant relationship and notification to relevant authorities.
Policies and Governance
Our approach is underpinned by internal policies that set expectations for ethical conduct and fair treatment. These include commitments to: comply with all applicable labour and employment laws; provide workers with clear written terms and conditions where applicable; ensure that work is freely chosen and that no worker is required to lodge deposits or identity documents; and ensure that wages meet or exceed legal minimum standards.
Managers are responsible for promoting awareness of these commitments and for ensuring that operational decisions support our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We understand that modern slavery risks can arise within complex supply chains. To address this, we carry out due diligence on new suppliers and contractors, with a particular focus on labour practices in higher risk areas such as temporary labour, subcontracted driving services, and vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
Our supplier assessments may include pre-engagement questionnaires, verification of business legitimacy, and review of policies and contracts relating to workers. Where appropriate, we conduct periodic audits or request evidence of compliance with modern slavery and labour standards. Suppliers are required to cooperate fully with any information or audit requests and to remedy any identified non-compliance promptly.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all workers, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our operations or supply chain. Concerns can be raised directly with line management or with senior management within Man with Van Crews Hill.
Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, whether or not it is ultimately substantiated. Where there is credible indication of criminal activity, we will consider reporting the matter to the appropriate authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our management and relevant staff. Training and guidance are provided to help individuals recognise indicators of exploitation, understand how to respond to concerns, and apply our zero-tolerance policy in day-to-day operations and when engaging suppliers.
Monitoring, Measurement, and Annual Review
We continuously monitor the effectiveness of our measures to prevent modern slavery by reviewing any reported concerns, audit results, and supplier performance. Lessons learned are used to strengthen our processes and update our risk assessments.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by senior management to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Updated versions will reflect any significant changes to our business structure, supply chain, or risk profile, as well as any enhancements to our controls and training.
Man with Van Crews Hill remains firmly committed to playing its part in combating modern slavery and human trafficking and to promoting dignity, respect, and fairness across all of our operations and relationships.
